Diversity in Music Symposium
On Friday, March 8, 2024, the Keene State Music Department offered the first-ever Diversity in Music Symposium with a day of talks and clinics, followed by a fantastic evening performance.

9:00 - Introductions
9:15-10:15 - Key-Note Speaker: Dr. Artina McCain, University of Memphis
10:30-12pm - Vocal Master Class: Dr. Cailin Marcel Manson, Clark University
1-2pm - Musicology Talk: Dr. Andrea Moore, Smith College
2-3pm - Lecture Recital: Amadi Azikiwe, NYU and The New School, Mannes
3:15-4:30 - Instrumental Master Class: Apple Hill String Quartet
4:30-5:15 - Advocacy in Composition: Finding Relevance in a Complex World - Dr. Heather Gilligan, Keene State College
7:30pm Recital featuring performances by the Apple Hill String Quartet and guest artists performing music by African-American and Female composers.
